One of the worst years for US travel (2006) was our busiest year to date! We have taken more of a "hobby" B&B approach, closing the business for 2 to 3 months per year for free time. We have never maximized all the avenues to increase occupancy rates and/or income.

The Lodge was owned by Mrs. McCauley and operated as a boarding house in the 30's, it was converted to a private residence, then was modernized and became the Laurel Springs Bed & Breakfast in 1991. The B&B was first opened in 1991 by Patricia and Tim Wagner and is currently owned and operated by Belinda and Garth Birdsey. Belinda and Garth are both retired from the U.S. Navy and moved to Tennessee from Norfolk, Virginia.
