   If you have been searching for an affordable B&B in a hot tourist destination this B&B is it!! There is still plenty of potential to increase occupancy rates and gross income.

There has been a lot of grumbling lately of a slowing economy, but that usually doesn't affect us here.   Gatlinburg is a less expensive, driving destination for over half of the U.S.  People are likely to skip a more expensive beach vacation or overseas trip and drive to Gatlinburg instead.  One of the worst years for US travel (2006) was our busiest year to date!

We have taken more of a "hobby" B&B approach, closing the business for 2 to 3 months per year for free time.  We have never maximized all the avenues to increase occupancy rates and/or income.

  The Lodge was owned by Mrs. McCauley and operated as a boarding house in the 30's, it was converted to a private residence, then was modernized and became the Laurel Springs Bed & Breakfast in 1991.

  The B&B was first opened in 1991 by Patricia and Tim Wagner and is currently owned and operated by Belinda and Garth Birdsey.

  Belinda and Garth are both retired from the U.S. Navy and moved to Tennessee from Norfolk, Virginia.  We are ready for new adventures  and have decided to pass the torch to the next caretakers of "The Lodge"
